Hello beautiful souls, and welcome to MySistasWood!
My name is Kenya Bailey McIntosh, and I am the proud creator behind this brand. My journey into the world of art is deeply connected to my roots as a wife, mother, daughter, Yaya, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. MySistasWood is a reflection of the wisdom passed down from my ancestors, combined with the creativity gifted to me by God.
It all began on Labor Day 2023 when, after waiting for my husband to stain our deck, I decided to take matters into my own hands. As I sanded and stained the wood, I felt an overwhelming connection to the material. Watching the wood transform under each brush stroke—from a light hue to a rich mahogany brown—sparked something within me. It was in that moment I realized wood would become my canvas, and I set out on an artistic journey that has since blossomed into MySistasWood.
My work is dedicated to celebrating the beauty, strength, and uniqueness of women, especially Black women. Each piece I create tells a story of resilience, individuality, and sisterhood. My bold statement accessories—including earrings, bracelets, unique canvas bags, and more—are designed to embody the spirit of every woman who wears them. My collections, such as "Sista Specs" and "Sista Princess Peepers," feature fun, eye-catching eyewear that reflects the colorful personalities of each woman.
At MySistasWood, I craft with the belief that every creation is destined for a special Sista, even if we haven’t met yet. Each piece is made with love, care, and an open heart, with the hope that it will resonate with the person who wears it. My vision is inspired by you—by all the women who embody strength, grace, and individuality.
